Service name: ShabbatTime
Operator: Dor Yarchi (דור ירחי), a private venture operated from Israel (the "Operator").
Contact email: contact@shabbattime.app
Privacy Policy: available through the Service.
Community Guidelines: available through the Service.
Accessibility Statement: available through the Service.
Section 1 - Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
1.1 The Service is intended to help people meet around Shabbat meals, Jewish holidays, and Jewish or community-oriented group gatherings, and to enable independent users to publish events, request to attend them, and coordinate participation with one another.
1.2 These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between the user and the Operator.
1.3 Checking the acceptance box, opening an account, or using account-required features after these Terms have been presented to the user constitutes acceptance of these Terms and the Community Guidelines then in effect. The collection and use of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy, which users are asked to review as part of the registration process.
1.4 If you do not agree to these Terms or the Community Guidelines, do not open an account or use features that require an account.
1.5 The Service is intended only for persons aged 18 or older. A person under the age of 18 may not open an account.
1.6 Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the meaning of these Terms.
1.7 If any provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law, the mandatory provision of law will prevail.
1.8 The Operator may act directly or through employees, administrators, service providers, representatives, or other persons authorized by the Operator for purposes including operating the Service, user support, security, moderation, handling reports, and enforcing these Terms. Where these Terms grant the Operator an operational or administrative authority, the Operator may, as appropriate, exercise that authority through a person authorized to act on the Operator's behalf. This does not make such person a party to this Agreement or grant that person authority independent of the authorization given by the Operator.
Section 2 - Nature and Role of the Service
2.1 The Service provides technological infrastructure that connects independent users.
2.2 The Operator is not the host of an event published by a user, does not own the venue where the event takes place, is not a restaurant or catering company, does not organize events on behalf of users, and is not a party to the arrangement between a host and a guest concerning an event.
2.3 Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific event organized directly by the Operator, every event appearing on the Service is created, offered, and managed under the responsibility of the user who published it.
2.4 The Service is not an emergency service, security service, guarding company, background-check service, identity-verification service, insurance service, religious authority, dating service, or entity that supervises users' conduct outside the Service.
2.5 The mere display of an event, user, profile, ranking, badge, score, request, or other information on the Service does not constitute approval, recommendation, guarantee, or representation by the Operator regarding its safety, quality, reliability, legality, character, suitability, or trustworthiness.
2.6 The Operator does not guarantee that any user will attend an event, that an event will take place as planned, that a host and guests will be compatible, or that a gathering will meet any participant's expectations.
2.7 Use of the Service does not create a vested right to participate in the community, publish an event, attend as a guest, host, receive priority, receive any particular level of exposure, or continue using the Service without limitation.
Section 3 - User Accounts, Age, and Identity Information
3.1 As a general rule, an account is intended for one adult individual.
3.2 Users may not open or operate a shared account for a group of friends, or share an account in order to bypass limitations, verification measures, usage restrictions, future payment requirements, cooldown periods, bans, or any other mechanism of the Service.
3.3 The Service may allow an adult user to submit a request that includes a spouse, family member, child, or other accompanying person, subject to the features available through the Service and the rules set out below.
3.4 Users must provide information that is accurate, current, and not misleading.
3.5 Users may not impersonate another person, use another person's identity, use an image in a manner that creates a false impression about the user's identity, or knowingly provide information intended to mislead other users.
3.6 Users are not required to use their full legal name as their display name unless the Service states otherwise. However, a display name that is not a legal name may not be used for impersonation, fraud, or deception.
3.7 A profile image should, where reasonably possible, help other users understand who they are interacting with. Pornographic, clearly sexual, offensive, misleading, impersonating, or rights-infringing images may not be uploaded.
3.8 An image generated using an automated tool, or any other image, may not be used in a manner that could cause a reasonable user to believe it is an authentic photograph of the user, the user's home, the event venue, or the event itself when that is not true.
3.9 The Operator may use automated filters and review tools to identify problematic content. Such tools are not perfect. The fact that content passed a filter does not constitute approval of the content.
3.10 Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized use of their account.
Section 4 - Phone Number Verification
4.1 Before certain actions, including hosting, submitting a request to join, or interacting with other users, the Service may require verification of a phone number using a one-time code.
4.2 Phone verification means only that the person completing the verification was able to receive a code sent to the phone number and use it in the verification process.
4.3 Phone verification is not verification of a legal name, identity number, actual age, profile image, criminal history, residential address, reliability, character, intentions, fitness, or safety.
4.4 Users must not rely on phone verification as a substitute for exercising independent judgment before meeting another person.
4.5 The Service may limit a phone number to one account and use measures intended to prevent abuse, repeat registrations, circumvention of bans, or automated use.
4.6 The Operator may change the verification method or add additional verification measures in the future. Unless expressly stated otherwise, adding a verification measure does not constitute a background check or a guarantee of safety.
Section 5 - Profiles and Information Displayed to Others
5.1 Depending on the Service settings, certain profile information may be displayed to other users.
5.2 Visible information may include, among other things, a display name, profile image, age or calculated age, city, gender, bio, lifestyle characteristics provided by the user, information concerning prior experience on the Service, and other information designated by the Service as visible.
5.3 Users may be able to see certain information about participants who have been approved for an event even before those users themselves have been approved for that event.
5.4 Users understand that information they provide in an area identified as public or community-visible may be exposed to other users in accordance with the structure, settings, and available functionality of the Service.
5.5 Events published through the Service may also appear in public areas of the Service, including the homepage, so that persons who are not logged in may view limited information about them. Such information may include, among other things, the event name, cover image, city, date or time, number of available places, general event characteristics, and the host's public display name and profile image.
5.6 Private information such as the exact event address, private contact details, and attendee identities will not be displayed as part of such a public event card.
5.7 Information such as a phone number and an event's exact address is not intended to be visible to the general public and will be disclosed only in accordance with the mechanisms described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Section 6 - Events Permitted on the Service
6.1 The Service is intended for group gatherings of a Jewish, community-oriented, Shabbat-related, or holiday-related nature.
6.2 Permitted gatherings may include, among other things, Friday night meals, Shabbat meals, holiday meals, Hanukkah candle-lighting gatherings, group Torah or Jewish learning gatherings, Jewish community events, and similar events consistent with the purpose of the Service.
6.3 By default, the Service is not intended for one-to-one dating meetings, events unrelated to the purpose of the Service, general commercial advertising, or use as an open classifieds board.
6.4 The Service may not be used for unlawful activity, violent activity, support for a terrorist organization or unlawful organization, recruitment for criminal activity, or activity that materially endangers users.
6.5 The Service may not be used for concealed missionary activity, attempts to convert Service users to another religion, recruitment to a cult or manipulative framework, political propaganda, election campaigning, fundraising, organizational recruitment, commercial advertising, or promotion of products or services without the Operator's prior written approval.
6.6 The restriction on promotional or organizational use may also apply where the acting entity is a nonprofit, community institution, Chabad house, synagogue, nonprofit venture, or any other organization.
6.7 The Operator may introduce dedicated plans for organizations, businesses, or commercial hosts in the future. The possible existence of such plans in the future does not create a present right to use the Service for those purposes.
Section 7 - Host Obligations
7.1 A user who publishes an event (the "Host") is responsible for the event they publish.
7.2 The Host must ensure that material information provided about the event is accurate to the best of the Host's knowledge and is not misleading.
7.3 The Host is responsible for choosing a location at which the Host is legally entitled to hold the event.
7.4 By publishing an event, the Host represents that the Host has, as applicable, ownership, permission, authorization, or sufficient consent to use the location for the event.
7.5 The Host is responsible for determining whether requirements of a property owner, landlord, building committee, local authority, business owner, public venue, or other relevant party apply.
7.6 The Host is responsible for ensuring that the venue is reasonably suitable for the nature and scale of the event and for disclosing any material risk, access limitation, or unusual condition known to the Host that a reasonable participant should know about.
7.7 The Service does not inspect the property, visit it, or approve its safety, accessibility, legality, or suitability.
7.8 The Host is responsible for the number of participants, the manner of hosting, food provided, equipment at the location, conduct within the home or event venue, and actions taken by the Host.
7.9 Users may not publish a fictitious event, a nonexistent location, a misleading address, or images that create a materially false impression.
7.10 A Host may not approve a number of participants that materially exceeds the stated capacity or event size, except for a small and reasonable deviation in exceptional circumstances and with the consent of the persons concerned.
7.11 The event address cannot be changed through the ordinary editing mechanism after the event is created. A Host who discovers that an incorrect address was provided, or who can no longer hold the event at the stated location, must use the cancellation and recreation mechanisms made available by the Service.
7.12 The Host may decide whether to approve a join request, subject to applicable law, these Terms, and the Community Guidelines.
7.13 As a general rule, the Host is not required to provide an applicant with an explanation for declining a request.
7.14 The right to select participants does not permit unlawful discrimination, harassment, humiliation, racism, or misuse of users' information.
Section 8 - Guest Obligations
8.1 A user who requests to join an event is responsible for independently determining whether the event is suitable for them.
8.2 Before requesting to join or attending, users should review the event details and clarify with the Host any matters that are material to them.
8.3 Once participation is approved, the Guest must act in good faith and attend as committed unless the Guest needs to cancel in accordance with the cancellation rules.
8.4 A Guest may not arrive with another person who has not been approved by the Host.
8.5 Where the Service permits a request to include an additional guest, the user submitting the request is responsible for obtaining the Host's approval and providing the correct number of participants.
8.6 Where reasonably possible, an additional adult who independently uses the Service should have their own account.
8.7 In exceptional circumstances, an accompanying person who does not have an account may attend only after the Host has expressly approved them.
8.8 A user who brings an accompanying person without an account is responsible for making that person aware of the relevant rules and for ensuring, to a reasonable extent, that they act accordingly.
8.9 A participation approval, place at an event, or event details may not be transferred to another person without the Host's express prior approval.
Section 9 - Minors Accompanied by an Adult
9.1 A person under 18 may not open an account.
9.2 This restriction does not prevent a family from attending an event with a child where the Host has approved the child's attendance.
9.3 A minor may attend only when accompanied by an adult known to and responsible for the minor and with the Host's consent.
9.4 Responsibility for supervising the minor, the minor's conduct, needs, and safety rests with the responsible adult, not the Operator.
9.5 Users may not use an account belonging to a minor, open an account in a minor's name, or present a minor as an independent user of the Service.
Section 10 - Join Requests, Approvals, and Participation Tickets
10.1 Viewing an event does not create a right to attend it.
10.2 Sending a join request does not constitute approval.
10.3 Participation is considered approved only after the Service expressly indicates that the request has been approved.
10.4 A "ticket," "invitation," "approval," or similar indication in the Service means that the system has recorded the user as approved for the event. It is not a ticket with monetary value, a guarantee that the event will take place, or an undertaking by the Operator to provide the event.
10.5 The Host may decline a request subject to applicable law and the rules of the Service.
10.6 The Service may allow a Host to pre-approve a user who asked a question or received another form of authorization through the Service.
10.7 The Operator may change the structure of the request and approval process, provided that legally protected rights are not unlawfully impaired.
Section 11 - Event Address and Location Confidentiality
11.1 An event's exact address may include the street, street number, floor, apartment, and additional entry details.
11.2 The exact address is provided to the Service for purposes of carrying out the event and is not intended for publication to the general public.
11.3 As a general rule, the full address will be disclosed to a user only after that user has been approved to attend the event.
11.4 A user who receives an address or other private event information may use it only for attending the event and for reasonable communications connected to the event.
11.5 Users may not publish an address obtained through the Service, post it online, add it to a mailing list, store it in a marketing database, provide it to unrelated third parties, or use it for harassment, tracking, marketing, data collection, or harm to another person.
11.6 Information that is not public and is disclosed following participation approval - including an exact address, entry details, phone numbers, contact methods, private Host instructions, and other private event information - is provided solely for purposes of participating in the event.
11.7 Such information may not be provided to a person who has not been approved to attend the event unless the Host has given express prior permission or disclosure is required by law.
11.8 Information needed for arrival may be shared with a properly approved accompanying person, and only to the extent needed for that person's participation in the event.
11.9 Users understand that once information has been disclosed to another user, the Operator cannot guarantee that the recipient has not copied or retained it.
11.10 Misuse of an address, phone number, or other personal information may result in immediate suspension or permanent blocking, in addition to any other remedy available under law.
Section 12 - Disclosure of Phone Numbers and Communications Outside the Service
12.1 When creating an event or submitting a join request, a user may be able to choose which contact methods the user agrees to disclose if participation is approved.
12.2 Contact methods may include a phone call, private WhatsApp message, or WhatsApp group.
12.3 Selecting a contact method constitutes consent to disclose the corresponding contact detail to the other user for purposes of the event and in accordance with the Service mechanism.
12.4 As a general rule, disclosure occurs after participation has been approved.
12.5 A user who voluntarily provides a phone number or other contact detail at an earlier stage does so at their own discretion and responsibility.
12.6 The Service does not operate a full private messaging system between users. After contact information is disclosed, communications may continue outside the Service.
12.7 The Operator does not read, record, store, or monitor the content of phone calls or external communications between users.
12.8 Because external communications are outside the Operator's control, users should exercise judgment and end unwanted contact.
12.9 Contact details disclosed through the Service may not be used for spam, marketing, sexual propositions, harassment, tracking, recruitment, advertising, or another purpose that is not reasonably related to the event or to a relationship voluntarily formed between the parties.
Section 13 - Questions, Answers, and Communications Within the Service
13.1 The Service may allow a user to ask a Host a question concerning an event.
13.2 A question feature is not intended to function as a chat system, dating or flirting tool, marketing channel, or method of bypassing Service mechanisms.
13.3 Users should not include personal information in a question or answer where publication of that information is unnecessary.
13.4 The Service may allow a Host to publish a question and answer anonymously for the benefit of other users.
13.5 When a question is published in this way, the Service will seek not to display the questioner's identity in accordance with the structure and available functionality of the Service.
13.6 A user who asks a question understands that the content of the question may be displayed to other users without the user's name.
13.7 The Operator may remove a question, answer, or other information containing personal information, offensive content, advertising, harassment, or another violation of these Terms.
Section 14 - Lifestyle Information, Shabbat Observance, and Matching
14.1 The Service may ask users to provide self-reported information about their lifestyle, practices, and how they describe their level of Shabbat observance.
14.2 This information is based solely on the user's own statement.
14.3 The Operator does not verify a user's level of Shabbat observance and does not determine whether a person is "Shomer Shabbat" or otherwise observes Shabbat according to any particular halachic standard, movement, community, or interpretation.
14.4 The purposes of this information include reducing mismatched expectations and helping users find environments in which they are more likely to feel comfortable.
14.5 Matching characteristics provided by users may affect the default order in which events or requests are displayed.
14.6 Such use is intended to assess relative compatibility in the context of a particular event and not to determine that one lifestyle, level of Shabbat observance, age, or other personal characteristic is better, more desirable, or more worthy than another.
14.7 Algorithmic ordering is not a judgment about a person's value, does not guarantee compatibility, and is not a recommendation that one user is safer or better than another.
14.8 Additional information about the use of personal data and the purposes of processing is provided in the Privacy Policy and in contextual privacy notices where required.
Section 15 - Kashrut
15.1 The Service allows users to provide information relating to kashrut in two separate contexts: a user's personal kashrut preferences in their profile, and kitchen practices reported by a Host for a specific event.
15.2 This information is based solely on user statements. The Operator is not a rabbi, kashrut authority, supervisor, issuer of kosher certification, or authority authorized to determine the halachic status of a person, food, kitchen, venue, or event.
15.3 Kashrut preferences shown on a user's profile are intended to describe the user's preferences or lifestyle as self-reported by that user. They do not constitute religious approval, a halachic ruling, or verification by the Operator.
15.4 For events, the Service uses the category "Kitchen practices." This category is intended to provide concise factual information about practices reported by the Host and is not intended to represent that the event, food, kitchen, or venue has kosher certification or supervision.
15.5 Kitchen-practice levels displayed through the Service may include the following:
- "No specific practices" - the Host does not declare particular kitchen practices. Products may be used without certification, and separation between meat and dairy is not guaranteed.
- "Certified products" - the Host reports using products and ingredients carrying appropriate certification where such certification is relevant, and avoiding mixing meat and dairy. This level does not necessarily indicate separate utensils or full separation in the kitchen.
- "Separated kitchen" - in addition to the previous level, the Host reports separation between meat and dairy in both food and utensils and the additional practices described in the interface for this level, including, where relevant to the event, use of properly immersed utensils, sifting flour, and checking relevant foods for insects. The Host also reports that food is not cooked on Shabbat or brought to the event in a manner that, according to the Host, involves violation of Shabbat.
- "Strict practices" - in addition to the previous level, the Host reports additional or stricter practices, which may include products carrying stricter certifications, specially supervised leafy vegetables, specific requirements concerning meat or dairy products, Bishul Yisrael, or other practices and customs followed by the Host.
15.6 Selecting a kitchen-practice level constitutes the Host's statement that the information provided is accurate and material to the event as planned at the time of publication. A Host may not select a level that merely describes an aspiration, future intention, or condition that does not actually exist.
15.7 If, after publication, there is a material change in food preparation, the kitchen, the food supplier, or the practices reported by the Host, the Host must update the event details as soon as the Service permits and, where necessary, notify users who have already been approved to attend.
15.8 Where some or all food is supplied by a caterer, restaurant, business, another person, or external supplier, the Host remains responsible for providing accurate information about the source of the food and representations made in the event listing. The Host must take reasonable steps to verify the information before publishing it.
15.9 A Host may not use the Service to present an event, venue, kitchen, or food as kosher, supervised, or as having another status that requires kosher certification under applicable law unless that representation is permitted by applicable law and the relevant party holds valid certification as required.
15.10 If a Host states that kosher certification exists for a venue, food supplier, or particular product, the Host is responsible for ensuring that the representation is accurate, that the certification is valid, and that it is clear what and whom the certification covers. Certification relating to one supplier, product, or venue may not be presented as though it applies to another.
15.11 Display of any "Kitchen practices" level, including "Certified products," "Separated kitchen," or "Strict practices," does not constitute kosher certification, supervision, inspection, or approval by the Operator of the event, food, kitchen, or venue.
15.12 The Operator does not visit kitchens, inspect ingredients, examine utensils, verify separation between meat and dairy, routinely inspect product certificates, or supervise food preparation or the conduct of an event.
15.13 Even if the Operator requests information, an image, or a document from a Host for handling a complaint, internal review, or preventing deception, the request, receipt, or review of such material does not make the Operator a kashrut authority or create a representation of certification or supervision by the Service.
15.14 A user with specific kashrut requirements should not rely on a category label alone. The user is encouraged to review the event details and clarify directly with the Host any matter important to the user before submitting a join request or attending the event.
15.15 This may include questions concerning products, utensils, separation practices, food sources, preparation methods, certification of suppliers or products, particular customs, or any other requirement relevant to the user.
15.16 A Host must respond in good faith and must not knowingly provide materially false, misleading, or incomplete information about food or kitchen practices on which the Host is questioned.
15.17 For a paid event, the Host's responsibility to examine the applicable law is particularly important. A Host who charges money is responsible for determining whether the activity requires kosher certification, licensing, permits, compliance with food laws, or any other legal requirement and may not rely on the ability to publish the event through the Service as confirmation that the activity is lawful.
15.18 The Operator may remove or change the display of information, request clarification or documents from a Host, restrict publication of an event, suspend hosting privileges, or take another enforcement measure if there is a reasonable concern that misleading information was provided, that an unlawful kashrut-related representation was made, or that these Terms or applicable law were violated.
15.19 Users are encouraged to report representations that appear false or misleading concerning food, a kitchen, kosher certification, or practices reported by a Host. The Operator may review such a report in accordance with the section governing reports and complaints but does not undertake to continuously monitor every event.
15.20 Nothing in this Section limits any obligation imposed on a Host, business, food supplier, or other user under applicable kashrut law, consumer-protection law, food law, or other applicable law.
Section 16 - Food, Dietary Preferences, and Allergies
16.1 The Host is responsible for food served at an event hosted by that Host.
16.2 The Service does not prepare food, store food, inspect ingredients, visit kitchens, or supervise cooking, serving, storage, or the prevention of cross-contamination.
16.3 An event marked "Vegan" or "Vegetarian" is based on information provided by the Host and does not constitute approval, inspection, or a guarantee by the Operator.
16.4 Even where an event is marked Vegan or Vegetarian, this does not guarantee that every product, utensil, surface, or dish is suitable for a medical requirement, allergy, sensitivity, or other dietary need.
16.5 A Vegan or Vegetarian label on the Service should not be relied upon as a substitute for direct clarification with the Host in the case of an allergy, medical sensitivity, celiac disease, risk of anaphylaxis, or another medical restriction.
16.6 A user with an allergy or sensitivity that may endanger their health is responsible for obtaining the information they need directly from the Host and deciding whether the event is suitable for them.
16.7 A Host who becomes aware that material dietary information was presented incorrectly, that an ingredient may be dangerous to certain users, or that a change in the food means the event no longer matches a label displayed through the Service must not mislead guests and must correct the information to the extent the Service permits.
16.8 Guests who bring food to an event are responsible for the food they bring and for information they provide about it.
Section 17 - Paid Events
17.1 The Service may allow a Host to indicate that participation in an event requires payment.
17.2 Displaying a price through the Service does not make the Operator the seller or organizer of the event, the Host's business, a collection agent, or a party to the transaction between the Host and Guest.
17.3 At this stage, payment to a Host takes place outside the Service and directly between users.
17.4 The Operator does not hold user funds, provide escrow services, guarantee refunds, or take responsibility for collecting payment.
17.5 A Guest may not be required to transfer payment before that Guest's participation has been approved unless the Service expressly introduces a different mechanism in the future.
17.6 A Host who chooses to charge money is solely responsible for identifying and complying with legal obligations that apply as a result.
17.7 Such obligations may include, depending on the circumstances, tax obligations, bookkeeping, issuance of required documents, consumer law, licensing, use of property, food law, insurance, and any other requirement applicable to the Host's activity.
17.8 The fact that the Service allows a price to be entered or displays an event does not constitute approval that the activity is lawful.
17.9 The Operator may limit the amount that may be stated as a price, change that limit, or prohibit paid events.
17.10 If a Host receives payment and then cancels the event, any refund obligation arising under an agreement or applicable law rests with the Host.
17.11 A payment dispute between a Host and Guest is, as a general rule, a dispute between them. The Operator may choose to assist but does not undertake to decide the dispute or return money.
17.12 Users should exercise caution before transferring money to another user and report payment demands that appear suspicious, misleading, or unreasonable.
Section 18 - Cancellations, No-Shows, and Behavioral Consequences
18.1 A user may withdraw a join request that has not yet been approved in accordance with the Service mechanism.
18.2 After participation has been approved, cancellation may affect usage history, the ordering of future requests, the user's reliability, or the user's ability to perform certain actions.
18.3 Cancellation of an event by a Host may produce different consequences depending on the amount of time remaining before the event, the number of participants already approved, and other relevant circumstances under the Service mechanisms.
18.4 Failure to attend without notice may result in reduced reliability, a cooldown period, temporary restrictions, or, in serious or repeated cases, suspension or blocking.
18.5 The Operator may change the method for calculating reliability, weights, cooldown periods, and enforcement mechanisms from time to time.
18.6 Such a change does not give a user a vested right to any particular ranking method, provided that the change is made in accordance with law and is not implemented unlawfully.
18.7 A user's report that another person attended, arrived late, or failed to attend is based on a user report and is not necessarily a fact verified by the Operator.
18.8 If reports conflict, the Operator may review the matter, request additional information, or determine that no definitive conclusion can be reached.
18.9 The Operator is not a court and is not required to conduct a full evidentiary proceeding in every dispute between users.
Section 19 - Ranking, Display Order, Reliability Scores, and Badges
19.1 The Service may use automated mechanisms to determine the order in which events, participants, or join requests are displayed.
19.2 The default order is not necessarily chronological or neutral.
19.3 Ordering mechanisms may take into account information such as event timing, location, available places, demand, prior experience on the Service, reliability, event characteristics, matching characteristics, and preferences provided by users.
19.4 Where an event age range or another matching characteristic is used, the purpose is to assess compatibility in relation to that event and not to assign a general value to a characteristic or person.
19.5 The Service may provide temporary exposure to new users, first events, or other content in order to support fair and diverse activity on the Service.
19.6 Full reliability scores may be internal and may not be displayed to the user.
19.7 The Service may display badges or limited information such as "Reliable Host" or similar information where system-defined conditions are met.
19.8 A reliability badge is not a safety approval, background check, or commitment concerning future conduct.
19.9 Users do not have a vested right to any position in a list, level of exposure, score, or badge.
19.10 The Operator may correct an error, change an algorithm, remove a badge, or change a weighting where needed for operations, fairness, safety, prevention of abuse, or improvement of the Service.
Section 20 - Reviews
20.1 Only users connected to an approved event may provide a review or feedback to the extent the Service permits.
20.2 Reviews may include scores, structured responses, and tags.
20.3 At this stage, free-text review content is not displayed publicly.
20.4 An aggregate score or certain measures concerning a Host may be displayed to users.
20.5 Users must submit reviews in good faith and may not use the review system for revenge, extortion, harassment, discrimination, or knowingly false reporting.
20.6 The Operator does not guarantee that every review or score accurately reflects reality.
20.7 The Operator may remove, change the display of, or disregard a review that appears fake, manipulative, unlawful, offensive, or the product of abuse.
Section 21 - Reports, Complaints, and User Support
21.1 The Service allows users to report a problem, inappropriate content, a safety incident, another user, or another matter through the support system or another reporting mechanism provided by the Service.
21.2 A report may include free-text information and details concerning other users.
21.3 Information contained in a report is not published publicly and is intended primarily for internal handling.
21.4 Where appropriate and subject to law, the Operator may provide a person who is the subject of a complaint with all or part of the information relevant to the complaint to the extent reasonably necessary to investigate the matter, prevent risk, or obtain that person's response. This does not constitute a commitment to disclose the reporting user's identity or information that is not needed for the review.
21.5 The Operator may ask the reporting user or the reported user for documents, screenshots, clarifications, or other information.
21.6 Submitting a report does not create an obligation for the Operator to open an investigation, reach a conclusion, respond within a particular period, or take a particular action.
21.7 The extent of review may vary according to the seriousness of the matter, available information, Service resources, the number of reports, and other safety considerations.
21.8 The Operator may act even where it is not possible to determine with complete certainty what occurred, if there is a reasonable basis to believe that continued use by a particular person could harm the community or violate these Terms.
21.9 In urgent circumstances, the Operator may restrict a user before hearing that user's account of the matter.
21.10 Where practical and appropriate in the circumstances, the Operator may later allow the user to provide a response.
21.11 The support system is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for the police, Magen David Adom, fire and rescue services, or another competent authority.
21.12 In the event of immediate danger, violence, threats, assault, a medical emergency, or suspected serious criminal activity, users should contact the appropriate emergency service or competent authority and should not rely solely on a report submitted through the Service.
21.13 Subject to applicable law, the Operator may contact the police, emergency services, or another competent authority where there is a reasonable concern regarding a criminal offense, danger to a person's safety, fraud, threats, violence, or another serious matter that reasonably justifies such contact.
21.14 In connection with such contact, the Operator may provide relevant information in its possession to the extent disclosure is permitted or required by law and is reasonably necessary for the referral, investigation, or protection of users.
Section 22 - Conduct at Gatherings and Real-World Risks
22.1 Meeting a person first encountered online inherently involves risks that do not exist in purely digital interaction.
22.2 Each user is responsible for deciding whom to meet, where to go, and under what conditions.
22.3 The Operator is not present at user events and cannot monitor the conduct of Hosts, Guests, or other persons at the venue in real time.
22.4 Users must not treat a profile, image, verified phone number, review, score, badge, or participation approval as proof that a person is safe or trustworthy.
22.5 Each user is responsible for acting lawfully and reasonably, respecting the boundaries of others, and avoiding dangerous conduct.
22.6 Violence, threats, assault, theft, property damage, harassment, stalking, exploitation, coercion, and other unlawful or harmful conduct are prohibited.
22.7 Each user is responsible for decisions regarding alcohol consumption, smoking, or other substances, subject to applicable law and the Host's rules.
22.8 The Operator does not supervise alcohol consumption or the physical condition of participants.
22.9 A property owner or Host is responsible for rules they choose to apply at the venue, provided those rules are lawful and consistent with these Terms.
22.10 The fact that these Terms mention a particular risk does not create a duty on the Operator to monitor or prevent that risk.
Section 23 - Harassment, Sexual Conduct, and Use of the Service for Dating
23.1 The Service is intended for community and hospitality and is not a dating service.
23.2 Service features may not be used to send explicit sexual propositions, harassing propositions, unwanted sexual content, or repeated romantic advances after the other person has indicated that they are not interested.
23.3 A question to a Host, contact information disclosed following approval, or any other Service feature may not be used as a pretext for romantic or sexual harassment.
23.4 Users may not touch, photograph, follow, or contact a person in a way that violates that person's boundaries or consent.
23.5 If two users meet through the Service and later voluntarily form a friendship, business relationship, or romantic relationship, the Operator does not become a party to that relationship.
23.6 A relationship that continues after an event and outside the Service is conducted under the responsibility of the users involved.
23.7 Conduct outside the Service may nevertheless lead to account restrictions where it relates to users who met through the Service and creates a material concern for community safety or misuse of the Service.
Section 24 - Prohibited Discrimination and Misuse of User Characteristics
24.1 The Service may not be used for discrimination prohibited by law.
24.2 Among other things, users may not humiliate, exclude, or harm a person on the basis of race, origin, skin color, nationality, religion, sex, or another protected characteristic in a manner prohibited by law.
24.3 Users may not publish an event or message that is racist, inciting, or intended to create humiliation or hostility toward a group or individuals.
24.4 The Service may allow certain audience characteristics to be defined, such as gender or age range, where consistent with the structure and available functionality of the Service.
24.5 The fact that a technical option exists does not mean that every possible use of that option is lawful.
24.6 A user who uses audience characteristics is responsible for ensuring that the use serves a legitimate purpose and complies with applicable law.
24.7 The Operator may remove an event or restrict an account where the use of user characteristics appears offensive, racist, unlawfully discriminatory, or inconsistent with the purposes of the community.
Section 25 - Photography, Recording, and Participant Privacy
25.1 An event held in a private home or social setting does not automatically permit the photography, recording, or publication of every person present.
25.2 Each user is responsible for obtaining any consent required by law before photographing, recording, publishing, or distributing content that depicts other persons.
25.3 A reasonable request by a participant not to be photographed or not to appear in a publication should be respected.
25.4 Hidden photography, intrusive recording, voyeurism, or use of recording equipment in a manner that infringes privacy is prohibited.
25.5 Users may not publish another participant's address, phone number, full name, email address, private conversation, or other personal information without an appropriate legal basis or consent.
25.6 Systematic collection of information about users for purposes of building a database, marketing, tracking, advertising, harassment, or trading in information is prohibited.
25.7 Each user is responsible for content that the user photographs, records, publishes, or distributes, including content created at an event discovered through the Service.
25.8 A user who brings an accompanying person who does not have an account is responsible for informing that person of the relevant photography, recording, and privacy rules and taking reasonable steps to ensure that the accompanying person respects them.
Section 26 - User-Submitted Content
26.1 A user retains ownership of original content created by the user, subject to any rights of other persons that may exist in that content.
26.2 The user represents that the user has the rights and permissions necessary to upload to the Service any image, text, description, event image, question, or other content submitted by the user.
26.3 Users may not upload content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy, publicity rights, trade secrets, or another right of a third party.
26.4 The user grants the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted content to the extent necessary for storage, display, technical adaptation, backup, security, translation, operation of the Service, provision of the Service, handling reports, and prevention of abuse.
26.5 This license is limited to purposes connected with the Service and to the period for which such use is reasonably necessary.
26.6 Use of content that identifies a user in an external advertisement or marketing campaign that is not part of the ordinary operation of the Service will, where additional consent is required by law or Service policy, be made only after such consent has been obtained.
26.7 The Operator may remove, block, reduce the visibility of, or prevent the upload of content that, in the Operator's reasonable view, violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the rights of another person, or applicable law.
26.8 The Operator does not undertake to review every item of content before it is published.
26.9 A person who believes that content uploaded to the Service infringes that person's copyright, trademark, privacy right, or another right may contact the Operator in writing using the contact information published through the Service and request review or removal of the content.
26.10 Such a request should include, where reasonably possible, the claimant's details and a means of contact, identification of the work or right claimed, precise identification of the allegedly infringing content, an explanation of the basis for the claim, and reasonable information or documents supporting it.
26.11 The Operator may request additional information, provide the user who uploaded the content with relevant portions of the request for purposes of obtaining a response, temporarily remove or restrict access to the content while the matter is reviewed, leave the content removed, or restore it in accordance with the available information and applicable law.
26.12 Handling a request does not constitute a legal determination of ownership or infringement, and the Operator is not required to decide a complex dispute between parties. The parties may communicate directly where they are able to do so or pursue legal proceedings in accordance with law.
26.13 The Operator is not required to provide a claimant with the private contact details of the user who uploaded the content merely for purposes of managing the dispute, unless disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Section 27 - Intellectual Property of the Service
27.1 All rights in the Service itself, including code, structure, design, interface, brand name, marks, logo, algorithms, databases, original text, and other components that are not user content, belong to the Operator or the applicable rights holders.
27.2 Permission to use the Service is personal, limited, revocable, and does not transfer ownership in the Service.
27.3 Users may not copy, reproduce, sell, distribute, reverse engineer, create a database from Service content, operate automated collection tools, or make unauthorized commercial use of the Service.
27.4 The Service name, logo, or visual identity may not be used in a manner that creates an impression of partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement by the Operator without written permission.
Section 28 - Automated Use, Data Collection, and Abuse
28.1 Bots, crawlers, automated accounts, data-collection software, or similar tools may not be used without prior written approval.
28.2 Users may not attempt to bypass a usage limit, access control, verification mechanism, cooldown period, ranking mechanism, ban, or security measure.
28.3 Users may not systematically collect images, names, ages, addresses, phone numbers, or other information relating to users.
28.4 Data mining for the purpose of creating a competing service, database of people, advertising service, mailing list, identification system, or external profiles is prohibited.
28.5 Users may not intentionally test the security boundaries of the Service, attempt to access another person's account or information, or exploit a defect to reach information not intended for them.
28.6 A user who discovers a security vulnerability is asked to report it to the Operator and not exploit it.
Section 29 - Privacy and Data Protection
29.1 The use of personal information is governed by the Service's Privacy Policy.
29.2 The Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, retained, disclosed, and the rights users have in relation to it, and applies alongside these Terms in accordance with law.
29.3 The Service collects and processes information needed for its operation, including information provided by users, information about use of the Service, event-related information, and technical information.
29.4 Some information provided by users may be sensitive by nature. The Service will handle such information in accordance with applicable law and the purposes presented to users.
29.5 At the time information is collected, the Service may display additional privacy notices explaining whether provision of particular information is mandatory or optional, the purpose of collection, how the information will be used, and to whom it may be disclosed.
29.6 Details concerning retention, deletion, service providers, transfers of information, access and correction rights, cookies, and analytics tools are set out in the Privacy Policy.
29.7 Users must not use personal information relating to another user for a purpose inconsistent with the purpose for which the information was disclosed or in violation of applicable law.
29.8 The Operator implements reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information and the Service's systems against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or intrusion, in accordance with the nature of the Service and applicable legal requirements.
29.9 That said, no computing system, online service, or security measure is fully immune to malfunction, cyberattack, intrusion, unauthorized access, malicious software, a vulnerability at an external provider, or another security incident. Accordingly, the Operator cannot guarantee that such an incident will never occur or that information will never be exposed, lost, corrupted, or damaged.
29.10 In the event of a security incident, the Operator will act in accordance with its obligations under applicable law and the circumstances of the incident. Nothing in this Section derogates from the Operator's liability to the extent it cannot lawfully be limited.
Section 30 - Notices and Email
30.1 The Service may send communications required for operation of an account, security, verification, request status, material event changes, enforcement, blocking, or account handling.
30.2 Essential service communications may not always be capable of being disabled while an account remains active.
30.3 Marketing messages, newsletters, and other non-essential communications will be sent in accordance with the user's choices and applicable law.
30.4 Different notification preferences may be offered to the extent supported by the Service.
30.5 An SMS sent for phone verification does not, by itself, enroll the user to receive advertising by SMS.
30.6 Users are responsible for keeping the email address and phone number associated with their account current.
Section 31 - Moderation, Restrictions, Suspension, and Blocking
31.1 The Operator, or a person authorized to act on the Operator's behalf, may, using reasonable discretion and taking the circumstances into account, take moderation and enforcement measures concerning an account, content, or activity on the Service.
31.2 Such measures may include, among other things: issuing a warning; removing, hiding, or resetting a profile image or event cover image; removing or hiding a bio, event description, instructions, question, answer, or other content; replacing a misleading, offensive, or prohibited display name with a neutral or system-generated name; reducing visibility; unpublishing an event; restricting particular functions; removing the ability to host or join; imposing a cooldown period; temporarily suspending an account; or permanently blocking an account.
31.3 Such measures may be taken because of a violation of these Terms, a violation of the Community Guidelines, misuse of the Service, suspected fraud, harassment, a safety risk, repeated complaints, an attempt to circumvent enforcement, or other conduct materially inconsistent with the purpose of the Service.
31.4 The Operator is not required to choose either the most severe or the least severe available measure and may tailor the measure to the seriousness of the matter, the level of risk, behavioral history, available information, and reasonable operational or safety considerations.
31.5 The Operator is not required to wait until actual harm occurs where there is a reasonable basis for a material concern.
31.6 A user has no automatic right to continued provision of the Service.
31.7 Moderation and enforcement powers will be exercised subject to applicable law and do not permit unlawful discrimination or arbitrary action where applicable law requires otherwise.
31.8 The Operator may act immediately and without prior notice where necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, preservation of evidence, or protection of users.
31.9 A user may contact support to request reconsideration of a decision.
31.10 A request for reconsideration does not require the Operator to reverse the decision and does not stay a restriction, suspension, or block that the Operator considers necessary for safety, security, or prevention of abuse.
Section 32 - Account Deactivation and Deletion
32.1 The Service may allow temporary account deactivation as well as a request for permanent deletion.
32.2 Deactivation is not deletion. During deactivation, the account and history are retained, while active participation through the Service is suspended.
32.3 A user may not use deactivation or deletion as a method of avoiding an obligation already created in relation to a future event.
32.4 Before deactivation or a deletion request, a user may be required to cancel future events the user is hosting and cancel participation already approved for other events.
32.5 Pending join requests may be withdrawn automatically.
32.6 Account deletion begins with a 30-day waiting period during which the deletion request may be cancelled.
32.7 After the waiting period and completion of the deletion process, the account itself and private identifying information will be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
32.8 Shared historical information whose deletion would impair legitimate records of other users or the integrity of the Service may be retained in a form that no longer displays the deleted profile.
32.9 Information reasonably needed for safety, investigation of complaints, fraud prevention, legal defense, or enforcement of a ban may be retained with restricted access in accordance with law.
32.10 Account deletion does not automatically delete a report, enforcement event, ban, or complaint concerning conduct that occurred before deletion.
32.11 The Service may retain limited cryptographically processed identifiers in order to identify an attempt by a blocked user to circumvent a ban or re-use a one-time benefit, all in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
32.12 A user who registers again after deletion creates a new account. The user has no right to restoration of reviews, history, scores, exposure, or benefits associated with the deleted account.
Section 33 - Third-Party Services and Links
33.1 The Service relies on infrastructure and technology providers for storage, hosting, email, verification, analytics, and other technical services.
33.2 Use of the Service may involve links or transitions to an external service, such as WhatsApp, mapping services, or another third-party website.
33.3 Once a user moves to an external service, use of that service is also subject to the external provider's terms and policies.
33.4 The Operator does not control an external service and is not responsible for its content, availability, security, or conduct, except for liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
33.5 Reference to an external service does not constitute a recommendation or guarantee by the Operator.
Section 34 - Service Availability and Changes
34.1 The Service is provided as-is and as available from time to time.
34.2 The Operator does not guarantee continuous availability, any particular uptime, absence of errors, or that every feature will continue to exist.
34.3 The Service is under ongoing development and may change frequently.
34.4 The Operator may add, remove, change, or discontinue a feature, design element, algorithm, limitation, or other component.
34.5 The Operator may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, security, bug fixes, or another operational need.
34.6 If a change impairs a contractual right that has already been acquired, the Operator will act in accordance with applicable law.
34.7 These Terms do not constitute a commercial service-level commitment or availability agreement.
Section 35 - No Representations or Warranties
35.1 The Operator uses reasonable efforts to operate a useful and safe service but cannot guarantee the conduct of independent users.
35.2 Subject to applicable law, the Operator does not represent or warrant that:
- information provided by a user is accurate;
- a person is who they claim to be;
- an event will take place;
- an event will be high-quality, safe, or enjoyable;
- a Host will fulfill every promise made to a Guest;
- a Guest will arrive on time;
- users will be compatible with one another;
- a ranking or badge will predict future behavior;
- a venue will be accessible to every person;
- a user will comply with these Terms; or
- the Service will be free of errors or data loss.
35.3 No information on the Service constitutes legal, medical, safety, dietary, or other professional advice to a user.
Section 36 - Assumption of Risks Arising from User Meetings
36.1 Users understand that a central purpose of the Service is to enable people to move from online contact to meetings in the physical world.
36.2 Certain risks arise from the nature of such meetings and are outside the Operator's control.
36.3 Subject to applicable law, each user is responsible for the choice to attend a gathering, invite someone into their home, enter another person's home, or continue a relationship after the event.
36.4 Nothing in this Section releases the Operator from liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
36.5 The purpose of this Section is to clarify that the Operator does not assume the role of supervisor, guard, event organizer, or guarantor of users' conduct.
Section 37 - Limitation of Liability
37.1 This Section applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.
37.2 The Operator will not be responsible for an act or omission of a Host, Guest, accompanying person, property owner, food supplier, person present at an event, or other third party merely because the introduction or event was facilitated through the Service.
37.3 The Operator will not be responsible for a payment made directly between users, a Host's failure to refund money, a financial dispute, property damage, loss of an item, theft, event quality, or a breach of commitment by another user, except where applicable law imposes non-excludable responsibility on the Operator.
37.4 To the extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or reputational harm arising from use of the Service.
37.5 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for an intentional act or fraud by the Operator, or another liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
37.6 Nothing in this Section limits liability where such a limitation is prohibited by law.
37.7 The fact that the Operator uses safety, filtering, reporting, verification, ranking, security, or enforcement measures does not create a commitment to achieve a particular result and does not make the Operator responsible for every incident those measures failed to prevent.
Section 38 - Indemnification
38.1 Subject to applicable law, a user will indemnify the Operator for reasonable loss, expense, claim, demand, or liability incurred because of an act or omission by that user that violates these Terms or applicable law.
38.2 The indemnity may apply, among other things, where a third-party claim arises from:
- an event hosted by the user;
- a venue made available by the user without appropriate permission;
- food provided by the user;
- a transaction or payment demanded by the user from another user;
- content uploaded by the user in violation of third-party rights;
- false or misleading information provided by the user;
- infringement of another person's privacy;
- unlawful conduct by the user; or
- use of contact information or an address in violation of these Terms.
38.3 The indemnity does not apply to loss resulting from the Operator's own liability where applicable law prevents that liability from being shifted to the user.
38.4 The Operator will notify the user of a material claim where reasonably practicable and allow the user to provide information relevant to the user's defense.
Section 39 - Changes to These Terms
39.1 The Operator may update these Terms from time to time due to changes in law, changes to the Service, new features, changes in the operating model, safety needs, or business needs.
39.2 The last-updated date and version number will be displayed in this document.
39.3 Where a material change significantly affects users' rights or obligations, the Service will provide appropriate notice and will request renewed agreement where required by law or appropriate in light of the nature of the change.
39.4 An urgent change required for legal compliance, security, or prevention of abuse may take effect immediately.
39.5 Continued use after a change takes effect will constitute agreement to the updated version only where that method is sufficient under applicable law and the circumstances.
Section 40 - Governing Law and Jurisdiction
40.1 These Terms and use of the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Israel.
40.2 Any legal dispute will be heard by a court of competent jurisdiction in Israel in accordance with the applicable rules of jurisdiction.
40.3 Nothing in these Terms prevents a user from approaching a public authority, regulator, court, or other body where applicable law gives the user that right.
Section 41 - Language of the Agreement
41.1 These Terms may be available in Hebrew and English.
41.2 The Hebrew version is the controlling legal version.
41.3 The English version is provided to enable users who do not read Hebrew to understand the Terms of the Service.
41.4 If there is a conflict, inconsistency, or difference in interpretation between the versions, the Hebrew version will prevail, subject to mandatory provisions of applicable law.
Section 42 - Transfer of the Service
42.1 The Operator may in the future transfer operation of the Service to a company, partnership, purchaser, other entity, or another party that continues the venture's activity.
42.2 Such a transfer may include assignment of rights and obligations under these Terms and transfer of information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
42.3 If there is a material change in the identity of the Operator, users will be notified in accordance with applicable law.
42.4 A user may not transfer the user's account or rights under these Terms to another person without the Operator's approval.
Section 43 - General Provisions
43.1 These Terms, together with the Community Guidelines and any specific terms to which the user has lawfully agreed, form the contractual framework governing use of the Service. The Privacy Policy describes the processing of personal information through the Service and applies alongside these documents in accordance with law.
43.2 If these Terms conflict with the Community Guidelines, these Terms will prevail unless a specific document expressly and lawfully provides otherwise.
43.3 If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will not be affected. The provision will be interpreted or narrowed to the extent necessary to conform to applicable law and its original purpose as far as reasonably possible.
43.4 A failure by the Operator to enforce a right in a particular instance does not waive that right in the future.
43.5 Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment relationship, agency, franchise, or joint venture between the Operator and a user.
43.6 Nothing in these Terms creates an agency relationship between a Host and the Operator or between a Guest and the Operator.
43.7 A Host has no authority to bind the Service, and displaying an event through the Service does not make the Host a representative of the Operator.
43.8 Users may not hold themselves out as representatives, employees, partners, or agents of the Service without express authorization.
Section 44 - Contact
44.1 The Operator may be contacted through the support system in the Service or through contact information published through the Service.
44.2 The email address for legal and operational communications is:
contact@shabbattime.app
44.3 Contacting support does not create a commitment to respond within a particular period.
44.4 In an urgent safety matter or emergency, users should not wait for a support response and should immediately contact the appropriate authority or emergency service.
Section 45 - User Acknowledgment
By agreeing to these Terms, the user acknowledges that:
- the user is at least 18 years old;
- the user has read these Terms and had a reasonable opportunity to review them before using the Service;
- the Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy have been made available to the user through the Service;
- the user understands that the Service connects independent users and is not the host or organizer of user events;
- the user understands that phone verification is not identity verification or a background check;
- the user understands that meeting people in the physical world involves risks and that the user must exercise independent judgment;
- the user agrees to respect the privacy, property, boundaries, and rights of other users;
- the user agrees to use the Service in accordance with law, these Terms, and the Community Guidelines; and
- the user understands that a material violation of the rules may result in account restrictions or termination of access to the Service.
