Be Who You Say You Are
Use a profile that fairly represents you and do not impersonate another person.
Do not use a name, image, description, event image, or other information in a way intended to mislead users about your identity, the home, the event, or what is being offered.
Your profile photo should, where reasonably possible, help others understand who they are interacting with. Do not upload explicit sexual, pornographic, misleading, or offensive content.
Describe Events Honestly
Hosts are expected to provide accurate information about the event, including the location, date and time, number of available places, intended audience, any payment, kitchen practices, and other information that may be material to a guest.
Do not create fictitious events, use misleading images, or present information that you do not stand behind.
A Host is responsible for having permission to hold the event at the location where it is listed.
Respect the Home and the Guests
If you are attending as a guest, remember that you are entering another person's home or space. Respect the place, property, house rules, and the people present.
If you committed to attend and can no longer do so, cancel as early as possible.
Do not arrive with another person who has not been approved by the Host.
If you are hosting, treat guests respectfully and reasonably provide what you represented in the event listing.
Respect Boundaries
ShabbatTime is not a dating app.
A friendship or romantic relationship may of course develop naturally between people who meet through the community, but the Service must not be used to harass, pressure, send unwanted sexual propositions, or continue pursuing someone who has made clear that they are not interested.
"No" is not an invitation for further persuasion.
Harassment, stalking, threats, violence, coercion, exploitation, or non-consensual sexual conduct are not permitted.
No Place for Hate or Humiliation
Do not publish or send racist, degrading, inciting, or threatening content, and do not use the Service for unlawful discrimination.
Hosts may choose whom to approve based on the nature of the event and the options made available by the Service, but this must not be used to humiliate people or promote racism, hatred, or unlawful discrimination.
Do Not Exploit the Community for Other Purposes
Do not use ShabbatTime for spam, unauthorized commercial advertising, lead collection, mass recruitment, fundraising, political or election campaigning, concealed missionary activity, recruitment into a cult or manipulative framework, or other activity inconsistent with the purpose of the community.
Do not use the Service for unlawful, violent, or dangerous activity.
Protect Privacy
An address, phone number, and other details received through ShabbatTime are provided only for purposes of the gathering.
Do not publish them, add them to lists, use them for marketing, collect them into a database, use them to track a person, or disclose them in order to harm someone.
Do not photograph, record, or publish a person in a manner that violates their privacy or is contrary to their consent or applicable law.
Food and Kitchen Practices
Information about vegetarian, vegan, and kitchen practices is based on the Host's own statement.
Hosts must provide truthful information and must not represent a level of observance or practice that is not actually followed.
If you have specific kashrut requirements, allergies, sensitivities, or a dietary need that is important to your health or way of life, clarify it directly with the Host before joining.
Paid Events
If an event involves payment, the price and terms should be presented honestly.
Payment is made directly between the Host and the Guest. Paid events must not be used for fraud, misleading pricing, or charging amounts that do not match what was presented.
A Host who charges money is responsible for complying with the legal obligations applicable to them.
Reviews and Reports
Use the review and reporting systems in good faith.
Do not knowingly submit a false report, use reporting as a threat or retaliation, or attempt to extort another user through a review.
If something feels improper, unsafe, or contrary to these Guidelines, you may contact us through the support system.
In an immediate danger or emergency situation, contact the appropriate emergency services first.
Enforcement
ShabbatTime may, depending on the circumstances, remove content, restrict features, apply a cooldown period, limit hosting or joining, suspend an account, or block a user.
In serious cases, action may be taken immediately even before a review is completed.
Conduct occurring outside the app may also be relevant where it involves users who met through ShabbatTime and raises a material concern regarding community safety or misuse of the Service.
These Community Guidelines supplement the Terms of Use. If there is a conflict, the Terms of Use prevail.
